I am in the middle of building a new collection that I have come to title Patterns of Healing. It's a way of emotionally healing from a catastrophic health travesty I experienced in 2014 when I had the holy trifecta of a stroke, heart failure and cancer in one year. Every morning I wake up just amazed to be alive. And so thrilled to be here. This series is really about the amazing healing properties of the body and the miracle of it all.
While I work I love to listen to Podcasts and audiobooks. Podcasts are my way of keeping up with business trends, changes in social media and more. I can listen to experts while I work. I keep a notebook on hand to jot notes. I am indebted to the generosity of the following podcasters:
Alyson Stanfield of Art Biz Blog I love personable interviews and commonsense advice to creating a living as an artist that I signed up for her classes. Game changer, in case you are wondering.
I also love Amy Porterfield of Online Marketing Expert . Her show on GDPR was so rich and informative that afterward I felt confident that I could get my website up to scratch. I still have work to do, but she gave me the roadmap.
When I need a full break from business, I listen to audiobooks, mostly mysteries, that are available for free from my library through a service called Hoopla. I can stream all sorts of books right on my phone. How cool is that?! Occassioanly I will tip my toe in science fiction.
Do you listen to podcasts or audiobooks? What are your favorite shows and titles? Please leave me a comment, so I can update my library as this series will last me through to winter before I finally flush it out of my head and the stories help me dual task.
The above photos were first featured on my Instagram page. Join the party and subscribe! The blue "worms" are what a strand of sequins look like. In that photo I am holding several thousand sequins. And next to that photo is what the back of one new work looks like. I try to keep my work neat, striving for excellence in craftsmanship.
